Photo Marketing Association Editorial Bank PMA EDITORIAL BANK Photo Marketing Association International (word count 237) Fellow Workers Worth Second Look We all have pictures of our family right? We have pictures of our pets, of our cars and trucks, of nearly everything that touches our lives. But what about all those good friends we make at work? Maybe it’s time we stopped letting them slip away--like to another job or some other "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" situation. Assuming no rules prohibit it, take your camera to the office or to one of those many company lunches you’ve attended over the years. Why? Because our associates are some of the closest, most endearing people we’ll ever meet—if only for a limited time. Yet, they’re the single group of friends we photograph least–probably because we see them day in and day out. But leave they will, leaving you with a couple of solitary pictures taken at some fleeting going-away party (hardly one of life’s more intimate, memorable moments). Of course, it would be nice if we kept in touch with our coworkers personally. But in the real world, even the best of intentions often fade, and we’re left carrying nothing but a few fond memories. How much better, how much more meaningful to say good bye in a more personal way—say, by presenting our fellow employees with a handful of photographic office memories. In that way, when the inevitable time of departure comes, we’ll have something more than a memory to cling to. # # #
